PROVA Seal is a hybrid silicone waterproof sealant and adhesive engineered for PROVA Board Plus+ installations and any other tile, masonry, or wet-area surface that requires a permanent, flexible waterproof seal. It combines silicone elasticity with polyurethane-grade bonding strength in a single, ready-to-use tube — no mixing, no primer, and no special tools required before application.

Unlike standard silicone caulks that bond only to clean, dry surfaces, this waterproof adhesive sealant adheres to virtually any building material — tile, XPS backer board, metal trims, glass, wood, concrete, PVC, masonry, porcelain, and ceramic — even on slightly damp surfaces. The bond it forms is 100% waterproof and airtight, UV-resistant, mold- and mildew-resistant, and flexible enough to handle the thermal movement and vibration that standard rigid sealants cannot withstand over time.

How strong is PROVA Seal as an adhesive — can it bond backer boards without fasteners?

PROVA Seal has substantially higher bond strength than standard silicone caulks, adhering firmly to XPS backer board, tile, metal, glass, concrete, PVC, and wood with no primer on any surface. However, for PROVA Board Plus+ installations, PROVA Fasteners and Washers are required alongside PROVA Seal to achieve the mechanical connection needed for the Lifetime Warranty. PROVA Seal handles all the sealing and supplementary adhesion at seams, corners, and penetrations — the fasteners provide the structural anchor.

Is PROVA Seal low odor, and is it safe to use in occupied spaces?

Yes. PROVA Seal is a low-VOC, solvent-free hybrid silicone sealant with noticeably lower odor than standard silicone or polyurethane products — it is designed for indoor use and safe for occupied residential and commercial spaces. It is one of the better low-odor waterproof sealants available for shower and wet-area applications, making it well suited to bathroom and kitchen renovation work where ventilation may be limited.

What warranty does PROVA Seal carry?

PROVA Seal is covered by PROVA's Lifetime Warranty when installed as part of the complete PROVA Board waterproofing system — meaning it is applied at all joints, seams, corners, and penetrations in conjunction with PROVA Board Plus+ and PROVA Fasteners. When used independently as a general-purpose waterproof sealant for cement board or other substrates, it carries the manufacturer's standard product guarantee. The PROVA Lifetime Warranty requires the full system; PROVA Seal alone does not activate it.
